It all started when nonna (grandma) Sofia moved to the US with her three children. Sofia always reminded her family that only 3 things matter in life: love, family, and food ... occasionally with a glass of tuscan wine on the side. Nonna Sofia taught her children, grandchildren and great-grand children how to make authentic italian pizza along side of many other italian dishes. Sofia was raised on a farm for which her mother cooked their pizza in a classic brick oven, and this is what she has taught her family. The word "Mattoni" translates to the word brick in Italian. After 80 years Mattoni still makes pizza the authentic way with traditional and experimental toppings.
